Printing is Underway! + A Cool Video

Hi Folks,

We just got some great news from our manufacturer: the Beer Deck is now being printed! 

For the last six weeks, our designs were being vetted by the USPCC legal team, and prepared for printing by the prepress team. It took a while to get through this stage, as there was a backlog caused by the factory shutting down for a while due to Covid-19. But thankfully they opened up again, and we worked enough leeway into our timeline, so we're still on schedule for mailing your decks out in November.

The printing and finishing process is a very intricate one that takes about 6 weeks to complete. Check out the video below to see how playing card decks are made.  

And here's a look at our designs that will be printed on those big sheets of paper, and then cut out into individual cards.

We hope everyone is doing alright out there! Can't wait to get these Beer Decks in your hands. Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi folks,

As you've likely seen, the campaign has successfully wrapped up, raising $19K for the production of the Beer Deck. Thanks again to all of our backers for making this a success!

Address survey + adding additional items

In a month or so, we'll be sending out a Backerkit survey to collect your mailing address. You’ll also have a chance to add additional items onto your order, including the Beer Deck, and our other decks, the Weed Deck, Design Deck and Font Deck.

We've now sent the Beer Deck files off to the printer, USPCC! Here are four cards to whet your whistle, and give you a small taste of what's coming in the Beer Deck.

Great news: We're funded!

We're so excited to announce that the Beer Deck has reached its funding goal, which means this dream is becoming a reality! And it's all thanks to your support. We are so grateful to our backers for jumping on board with us, and helping us produce this deck.

48 Hours Left

There is still a bit of time left in the campaign, so if you want to add any additional decks to your pledge level, now's your chance. (To change your reward selection, visit the project page and click the “Manage your pledge” button that appears next to your pledge amount.)

Once the Kickstarter is over, the price will increase, so grab your stocking stuffers now! And if you know anyone who would be interested in snagging a deck, we'd appreciate you sharing the campaign with them: bit.ly/beerdeck. Almost 15% of our backers came from Facebook, so a quick share can make a big difference!

Prepping the files

As we approach the end, we're getting ready to place our order with the United States Playing Card Company. Here's a little look at the print files that will soon be zipping off to the factory in Erlanger, Kentucky.

This has been such a fun campaign to run, and while we're a little sad it's ending, we're so excited to get these decks into your hands!

A radio interview, 84% funded, and some other cool decks!

Yesterday we had the amazing opportunity to give a radio interview about the Beer Deck on CBC (Canada's national broadcaster). Ben talked about the origins of the deck, the state of beer today, Ben's previous deck projects, and some fun trivia questions. My goodness – what a start to the campaign this has been. And all thanks to you! We are so grateful to everyone who has backed the Beer Deck so far.
